Biography

State Senator Mike Crider represents District 28, which is composed of Hancock County and portions of Marion and Shelby counties. First elected to the Senate in 2012, Crider serves as Chair of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security & Transportation, and is a member of the following other Senate Committees: Agriculture, Health & Provider Services, Natural Resources, and Veterans Affairs & the Military.

Prior to his election to the Senate, Crider served with distinction for years with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, and was named Director of Law Enforcement for the IDNR by Gov. Mitch Daniels in 2006. After leaving the IDNR in 2010, Crider began working as the Security Manager and Disaster Preparedness Coordinator for Hancock Regional Hospital.

He is a 1981 graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and a 2003 graduate of the FBI National Academy. He and his wife Sherri reside in Greenfield and attend Park Chaplin Church. They have two children and three grandchildren.
